"Dronovskiye" Special Purpose Submarine Unit [UI, Main Directorate]
[". . . One of the most classified units of the Defense Ministry. We will say only a little bit so as not to inflict damage to the state's interests. This unit is based in one of the bays along the coastline of one of the northern seas, not far from the home station of one of the Russian fleets. Actually, this unit is not subordinated to the fleet, but rather is subordinated directly to one of the main directorates of the General Staff. The name of this unit is not known to very many in the fleet. They know that it has special-purpose nuclear submarines" (Versiya, 17 April 2001).]
